Our first few weeks

This year in Room 10 there are lots of things going on. There is the year 6 camp to Tutira and the Year 7/8 camp to Waitomo.

Last Friday our school went to the Navy band in Napier and then a walk along Marine Parade to the local park. The Navy band had lots of instruments. There was trumpets, trombones, drums, piccolo, flute, clarinets and many many more. The orchestra played lots of music like olden day classical, theme songs from movies or TV programs.

After the Navy band we went for a walk to the park. On the way there we went through Napier town and looked at the old fashioned art deco cars. The school stopped and Mr Easson took a picture on a stage using panorama. A few minutes later we arrived at the park. I noticed that their was something different about it. There was a new slide that was quite steep, a climbing wall that looked dismantled and broken.
We stopped and had lunch.
"Oh nice one Rhian," I said, because she had popped her cherry tomato and it went all over her. But then she pulled out a napkin from inside her lunch box.
"Why do you have that in your lunch box?"
"Because I found one and didn't know what to do with it, so I put it in my lunch box".
"That was weird," I thought to myself. After lunch me and Rhian went down the slide.
"Wow that was pretty awesome," I thought to myself.

An hour later we hopped on to the bus and went back to school for a swim.  We arrived at school and everyone raced to go get their togs.
We were in the pool for about 45 minutes.

On Monday it was the senior swimming sports. I couldn't go swimming because I had a cold, so Ms Kinney told me to do the judging for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Me, Urmandip and Komalpreet were judging. Sophie and Rhian were doing the points.
Dee came first in all of the year 7 girls races and she got Nazareth a lot of points.

Technology is here again for the year 8's and the year 7's are starting tech.
Us year 7's are doing graphics and designs in art for tech. We have a really nice teacher called Miss Gordon. In art we discussed the rules and started a title page in our scrapbooks, that Ms Kinney brought us.

In Room 10, Mr Easson wants us to get better at catching and throwing tennis balls. So in P.E, WALT get better at our throwing and catching skills.

This year the senior school have started electives. There is art, fun with flax, photography and speech and drama which I'm doing and Mr Costello is our teacher for it. In speech and drama we have been doing little sketches that Mr Costello has written for us and mimes.

This summer for swimming we have been practicing butterfly and being confident at diving into the pool.
